Just a nineteen days ago (May 27, 2011,) Sam Leccia, the creative force behind the well-known Nub and Cain brands of cigar, left his partnership, amid some controversey, with the Oliva family to begin his own company, Sam Leccia Cigar Company. Today, Leccia and Toraño Cigars have announced, through a company press release,  that they (Leccia and Toraño) have formed a distribution partnership, effective immediately. It is a move that is seen as a positive for both parties. Toraño's Bruce Lewis told Cigar Weekly, in an e-mail today, that "It is very good news. Plenty of exciting things happening at Toraño - two new distribution agreements and two new brands being launched within the next month!"

Charlie Toraño, company president, said much the same in the company's press release, stating that he thinks Leccia is one of the most innovative people in the industry at this time. "We are excited about working with one of the industry’s most creative minds. Sam Leccia has a unique energy  and approach to the cigar industry. We look forward to the collaboration between our two companies"

Appropriately enough, Leccia's first effort with the Toraños, which will be introduced in Las Vegas, at the 2011 International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers Association trade show, is named just for today's announcement it would seem. “ 'Debut'  cigars are a twist of Nicaragua, Honduras, Ecuador and Santo Domingo tobaccos blended together, to give a unique smoking experience.Leccia is proud of his company’s first brand, and excited about working with this team."

Also included in the press release from Toraño was news of a partnership between the company and Nassau-based Graycliff as part of a look at some of their efforts over the past ten months, which was initiated with their taking back their distribution in August of 2010. Among other efforts, along with the Graycliff distribution agreement was the introduction of three new brands, including the Master and Single Region.
