My Father Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Limited Edition

In recent correspondence with My Father company spokesman, Vice-President José Ortega from their Doral, Florida office, Cigar Weekly had learned that the Estelí, Nicaragua operation would bring two new products to the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers Association trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada, the week of July 17, 2011. Through an electronic mail received today, Ortega has revealed what the second offering will be.

In announcing this line, actually named for company president and owner Jaime Garcia, all the bases of exclusivity are covered. This newest addition to the  Jaime Garcia brand will be the Jamie Garcia Reserva Especial Limited Edition 2011.
We are proud to announce the 1st Limited Edition release from the master blender Jaime Garcia under the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial name. It is very different from the regular Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial.  It has several types of Cuban seed tobacco including the Pelo de Oro.

According to the release, there will actually be two leaves of Pelo de Oro in the filler blend and binder, while the wrapper will be a broadleaf viso leaf. There will be only one vitola available, a toro, which measures 6½ inches by 52. Ortega states that the flavor and strength will both be full, with the Garcia-signature pepper when first lit.

Due to a presumably small run, this will be one of the more expensive products coming out, on which CW has reported. It will have a suggested price between $16.00 and $20.00, with state taxes being the variable factor in retail costs. Interestingly, though, these will be packaged in boxes of 16 cigars; 15 will be this year's release with the Broadleaf wrapper, and the bonus or lagniappe cigar will be wrapped with Connecticut-leaf, a preview of NEXT YEAR'S entrée.
